The newsroom checks the published version, source trail, verification record and relevant evidence. A request does not guarantee a change, and editorial decisions remain independent of commercial or political pressure.
A material factual correction or clarification is recorded on the affected article with a dated public summary. Routine spelling, formatting or accessibility fixes that do not alter meaning may be made without a correction note.
Fast-moving reports may be updated as verified facts emerge. Earlier uncertainty is not silently rewritten when the change materially affects a reader's understanding.
Content may be withdrawn when it is materially unreliable, unsafe, unlawful, rights-infringing or impossible to correct adequately. The original URL remains available as a withdrawal notice with the reason and date; the report body is no longer shown.
